While it might be the bright yellow sign in front of the beautiful home that first catches your eye, it is the professionalism and years of dedication that come shining through when you meet Debbie Chauvin and her team of realtors at Weichert, Realtors-Real Estate Express.

Debbie began her career in real estate with Mona & Company in 1998. Having worked the previous 20 years of her life as an administrative secretary in the oilfield, real estate was a new venture for a young woman who was previously accustomed to receiving a steady paycheck each week. Through hard work and determination, she sold her first listing after four months. Debbie was awarded Rookie of the Year in 1999 and achieved the status of Multi Million Dollar Producer several years in a row. Finding herself at the top of her game, Debbie took the next step, obtaining her broker’s license and opening Real Estate Express, LLC in 2004.

Starting out with two agents and now boasting a thriving team of 23, Debbie has reached new heights as a broker and owner of Weichert, Realtors-Real Estate Express, the franchise she joined in 2008. While Weichert helps their franchisees with a bit of branding and guidance, it’s Debbie that is the driving force behind her team’s success.

“We have a great team,” smiles Debbie. “You have to be self-motivated to be successful. We have hard workers here. They know they can always reach out, and I’m here to help them.”

Weichert, Realtors-Real Estate Express features listings for residential and commercial, new construction, condos, waterfront properties, land and investment properties. They can assist young couples in finding their perfect starter home or retirees in finding their dream home on the beautiful waterways of south Louisiana. Their main listings are found in Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, Assumption and even Grand Isle, but through the Bayou Board of Realtors MLS listings, they can help you discover the perfect property for you, wherever you choose to live.

“I’m lucky,” says Debbie. “I’ve done business with my clients for years. I always tell them, I’ll help you. And I do. I take their listings and help them sell and buy their new home or business.”

Debbie has remained active in our community over the years, serving on numerous boards including the Bayou Board of Realtors, from 2006-2018; Krewe of Hyacinthians, from 2015-2018; Part Time Executive Director of SCIA; Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce; TARC; Bayouland YMCA; Louisiana Women in Government; and SCIA. She proudly served on committees for SCIA; Downtown Family Fun Fest; Leonard J. Memorial Foundation; Bayou Hospice; the Haven; and Kiwanis. She is also a graduate of Leadership Terrebonne and completed the LR Leadership Course through the National Association of Realtors. Debbie currently serves as an At-Large State Director for Louisiana Realtors.

Despite the economic downtown our area has faced, Debbie and her team have continued to service the community and help homeowners with their property decisions.

“Hopefully our market will turn around in 2018. I think this is the longest downturn we’ve ever experienced,” says Debbie. “My heart goes out to some homeowners who are taking longer to sell. But if it’s the perfect home for someone, they’ll buy it. No questions asked.”
