A 38-year-old is in the custody of the Houma Police Department after call for reckless driving turned into a drug-related arrest.


On Aug. 7, 2019, at approximately 11:45 p.m., HPD officers were called to a report of a reckless driver in the area of La. Highway 3040 near Lafayette Street.

Officers responded and stopped the vehicle in question in the 700 block of Lafayette Street, identifying the driver as Mindy Rodenkirch, 38.

Officers talked to Rodenkirch and she told them that she had marijuana in her purse.


A search of the purse resulted in the recovery of marijuana, as well as methamphetamine and two glass pipes used for smoking illegal narcotics.

Rodenkirch was arrested and charged with tail lamps required, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
