The Houma Police Department is investigating a shooting last night within city limits.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., HPD was called to the 200 block of Brooklyn Avenue in reference to a shooting.
Once the scene, authorities learned that a 26-year-old male was shot. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released for his injuries.
Authorities learned that a suspect in a light-colored sedan fired numerous shots at the victim as he was seated in his vehicle.
At the present time a suspect has not been developed in the investigation nor has a motive for the shooting been established. The Investigation is ongoing and further information may be released at a later date and time.
