A 65-year-old Houma man was arrested this weekend after he allegedly stole more than a dozen patio chairs from a local business.

On October 20, 2019, shortly after 3 p.m., Houma Police was called to a restaurant in the 1100 block of Grand Caillou in reference to a theft.

During investigation, authorities learned that Bob Steele Jr., 65, of Grand Caillou Road, was noticed on several occasions removing patio chairs from the exterior of the business.

Management said they had noticed chairs having gone missing over the past week, so they looked at surveillance. On tape, Steele allegedly is seen taking 14 chairs over the past few weeks, loading them 2 at a time on his bike, then leaving the scene.

Houma Police located Bob Steele Jr. and immediately took him into custody. Steele cooperated fully with authorities stating he traded the chairs for narcotics. Bob C. Steele Jr. arrested and booked with theft. He was transported to the jail to be booked on the aforementioned charges.
