A juvenile has been arrested for Armed Robbery (Felony) & Possession of Tobacco By Person Under 18.

On Saturday, February 22nd, 2020, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Thibodaux Police Officers responded to a report of an Armed Robbery, located at a business in the 500 block of St. Mary Street.

The investigation revealed that the armed robbery took place earlier in the evening, when a juvenile male entered the store and asked the clerk for money. When the clerk who personally knew the suspect refused, the juvenile brandished both a gun and knife from his waistband. The juvenile then grabbed several perishable items from the store, before departing and entering a vehicle with his mother.

Through investigation, it was learned that the mother had no knowledge of what occurred inside the store. The child’s mother left the store and brought the juvenile to a relative’s home outside the Thibodaux City Limits, where he was later apprehended with the assistance of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The juvenile was transported to the Lafourche Parish Juvenile Justice Complex, where he remains.
