A 40-year-old man from Gray is in the custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after a K-9 stop led deputies to narcotics.

Yesterday morning, a K-9 deputy was patrolling the area of Hollywood Road when a stop was conducted for a traffic violation.


The driver of the vehicle was identified as Christopher Ledet, 40, of Gray. He was the only person in the vehicle.

Upon contact, Ledet appeared nervous, according to TPSO, and he was attempting to conceal something from the deputy.

Ledet was asked to leave the vehicle, which led to an investigation and a search.


Officers found the following in his possession.

  • 10 individual bags of suspected Crystal Meth. (total weight 39.1 grams)
  • 1 bag of suspected Heroin (weight 1.5 grams)
  • 23 suspected Oxycodone pills
  • 2 partly smoked cigars containing suspected Marijuana
  • Just over $300.00 of U.S. Currency
  • .40 Caliber semi-auto handgun.
  • Assorted items of drug paraphernal

Ledet was arrested for the following charges.

  • Possession With Intent To Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Possession With Intent To Distribute Oxycodone
  • Possession Of Heroin
  • Possession Of Marijuana
  • Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Transactions Involving Proceeds From CDS Activity
  • Possession Of A Firearm While In Possession Of CDS
  • Possession Of A Firearm By A Convicted Felon
  • Turning Movements And Required Signals
