An 18-year-old Kenner man was arrested by the Houma Police Department and charged with attempted burglary.

On Nov. 16, just after 1 a.m., HPD was called to a residence in the 200 block of Prince Collins concerning an attempted burglary.

During investigation, authorities learned that Rodrigo Castro, 18, of Kenner, departed the residence in a red SUV.

Shortly after, patrol officers located a vehicle occupied by multiple suspects, including Castro.

As investigation continued, officers learned the victim was an ex-girlfriend of Castro.

It was reported that the suspect arrived at the residence unannounced and tried to gain entry, but was unsuccessful.

Attempts continued when he started to kick the door, causing damage.

Once Castro was in custody he was arrested and transported to the Terrebonne Parish jail to be booked for Attempted Home Invasion.
