A 32-year-old Thibodaux woman was killed today by her live-in boyfriend, who then killed himself.

This morning around 8:40 a.m., Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives were called to the 100 block of Elmira Ct., in Thibodaux, in reference to an unresponsive female.

Prior to the deputy’s arrival, the caller and Schriever First Responders had already performed CPR on the female with negative results.

The deputy then entered and observed the woman who did not show any signs of life.

The victim, Jada Keller, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.

She suffered from severe trauma to her head, face and other parts of her body.

Shortly after being on the scene, deputies received information that Keller’s live-in boyfriend, Ronald Johnson, had confessed to family members that he killed Keller.

When deputies and detectives were in the process of securing the crime scene, Johnson drove up in his Lincoln Continental and parked the vehicle in the middle of the street.

As authorities got close to him, he pulled out a handgun and shot himself in the head while family members and others witnessed.

The vehicle then began rolling forward toward the crime scene as a TPSO detective opened the driver’s side door and shifted the vehicle into park.

A deputy then reached into the vehicle and removed the gun from Johnson’s hand.

Acadian Ambulance arrived on the scene, but there were no signs of life. Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene.

The couple had four children together.
