A murder suspect has turned himself into authorities yesterday in Terrebonne Parish.

Darrell Scott Jr., 26, is charged with second-degree murder and as a principal to illegal use of weapons.

His bond is set at $1,030,000.

A warrant for Scott’s arrest was issued after he was identified as a suspect in the shooting death of Damon Wallis, 22, on Aug. 30 in Houma.

Authorities determined the shooting was connected to a drug-related robbery. Another man, Jordan Ray, 19, was arrested the day of the incident and charged with illegal discharge of a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property and possession of a stolen firearm.

“An important aspect of circumstances concerning this suspect’s surrender was the diligence of our Detective Division,” Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said. “We are grateful for the dedication they show every day.”

Sheriff Larpenter said this investigation is continuing, and asks that anyone with information call the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 876-2500, or Bayou Region Crime Stoppers (800) 743-7433. Crime Stoppers may pay a reward for information and calls are confidential.
