The Houma Police Department is looking for a suspect in a weekend shooting that injured a local victim.

On Aug. 2 at approximately 9:40 p.m., HPD officers responded to the 100 block of Morrison Avenue in reference to multiple gunshots having been fired.

HPD then received a call from a local medical facility in reference to a 31-year-old male who had been shot.

As the investigation continued, officers learned that the victim was traveling on Morrison Avenue from Hollywood Boulevard Avenue when an unknown suspect in an unknown vehicle started firing shots at his vehicle.

After the shots, the victim said he felt like he had been hit, so he drove himself to the hospital for treatment.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and has been released.
