A Raceland man was given his 10th DWI earlier this week.

On Tuesday night just after 10 p.m., a Louisiana State Police Trooper conducted a stop on a vehicle clocked going 89 mph in a 70 mph zone on U.S. Highway 90 in Raceland.

During the stop, the Trooper identified the driver as Jessie Joseph, 34, of Raceland.

The trooper observed signs of impairment in the suspect and conducted a field sobriety test. The suspect performed poorly on the test and was arrested.

Once in jail, Joseph failed a breath test, as well.

Authorities learned that Joseph has a long, extensive history of drunk driving. This was his 10th recorded DWI.

He is charged with DWI (10th offense), speeding, open alcoholic container in a vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
