A Lockport man was arrested for Aggravated Battery by shooting. Lance Olivia Folse, age 43, was arrested Saturday afternoon following the investigation. The incident occurred shortly after the conclusion of Lockport’s annual Krewe of Apollo parade, according to Lockport Chief of Police David Harrelson, Jr.


On February 22, 2020 at approximately 4:03PM, Officers with the Lockport Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Vacherie Street in Lockport in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the residents who stated that someone had shot through their residence, striking the wall and lodging into an appliance. Officers were able to quickly determine that no one was injured as a result of this action.


 

Officers were able to speak with other victims who stated that Mr. Folse was the person responsible for this incident. The victims, whose names are being withheld at this time, stated that they were traveling in a vehicle on Vacherie Street when they passed Mr. Folse’s residence. The victims stated that Mr. Folse then ran toward their vehicle, fired three (3) shots toward the vehicle, and then left the area. Again, Officers were able to determine that no one was struck or injured as a result of this incident.

 

Mr. Folse was located a short time later and taken into custody. Following an interview, Mr. Folse was arrested and booked accordingly into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm (Felony) and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Felony). His bond was set at $70,000.00.
