December 12, 2019A 36-year-old man was arrested by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly had sexual relations with a juvenile.
Interviews revealed to TPSO that Francisco “Chico” Javier Benitez, 36, had sexual relations with a child who was 12-years-old at the time of the first encounter, but who is now 13.
The investigation continued with assistance from the Terrebonne Parish Child Advocacy Center and detectives located the suspect.
According to information developed by detectives, Benitez is a friend of the victim’s family.
Benitez was arrested on Dec. 11, 2019 and charged with one count of First Degree Rape. He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
