A 44-year-old Houma man is in the custody of the Houma Police Department after he allegedly broke into a storage shed at the Terrebonne Livestock Arena.

Yesterday just after 10 p.m., HPD was called to a burglary at the Houma Air Base after it was learned that an unknown person(s) entered a storage shed through the side where a piece of sheet metal was pulled back.

It was reported that several lights were taken.

Officers spoke to witnesses who stated that Lance M. Lapeyrouse, 44, of Houma, was seen earlier at the property.

As the investigation continued, officers located the suspect within the 900 block of Grand Caillou Road. Shortly after, authorities were able to recover the stolen lights and return them to the victim.

Lapeyrouse is arrested and charged with simple burglary and theft. He was taken to the Terrebonne Parish Jail to be booked.
