A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a suspect wanted in a drive-by shooting in Village East on October 7.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office announced today that Mervin Jackson, 31, of 142 King Street, Houma, is wanted for four felony offenses – attempted 2nd-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, aggravated assault by drive-by shooting and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for his alleged role in the incident earlier this month.

On Oct. 7, authorities were called to Westwood Drive in the Village East neighborhood after a call of shots fired.

Upon arrival, authorities learned that an individual had fired shots from a passing vehicle, according to Col. Terry Daigre.

No one was injured in the incident, but structures were hit. More than a dozen shell casings were recovered at the scene.

TPSO is looking for Jackson.
