A 17-year-old juvenile is in the custody of the Houma Police Department after he allegedly shot two victims with an air pistol.

On Aug. 17, 2019 during the afternoon, HPD officers were called to the 200 block of Glenwood in reference to a subject being shot at – possibly with a BB gun or airsoft gun.

Shortly after handling this complaint, HPD responded to the area of Carolyn Avenue and Grand Caillou Road in reference to a subject being struck in the forearm by what appeared to be a BB gun or airsoft pistol.

HPD then responded to the area of Southdown Mandalay and Chantilly in reference to yet another report of a subject being shot at by an individual with a BB gun or airsoft weapon.

As HPD investigated, it was learned that all of the victims reported being shot by a suspect in a dark-colored Cadillac sedan.

Shortly after handling the Southdown and Mandalay and Chantilly incident, HPD located a vehicle matching the description heading eastbound through the tunnel.

A traffic stop was conducted, and authorities took a 17-year-old juvenile into custody.

Authorities found that he was in possession of 2 airsoft pistols at the time of his arrest.

The juvenile was booked on charges relative to aggravated assault. HPD is looking into similar incidents that occurred approximately two weeks ago where a victim was struck by a pellet from a BB gun while in the downtown Court square, as well as two individuals who were struck by pellets on Grand Caillou Road.

Additional information will be released as the investigation develops.
