The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for public help to try and solve a homicide that took place this past spring.


On May 27, 2019, authorities found the body of 40-year-old Leah Marie Carlos in a Schriever home.

Deputies responded to a call that evening concerning the discovery of a body inside of the home, which is in the 200 block of North Main Project Road.

The victim had lived at the place where she was found, but she had also lived in the Thibodaux area and several other locations in Terrebonne Parish. The woman was also known to frequent the New Orleans area.


The case is being investigated as a homicide, but authorities do not have a suspect in custody.

Anyone with information is requested to call the Sheriff’s Office at (985) 876-2500. Calls can be made anonymously to Bayou Region Crime Stoppers. Anyone supplying information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
