Two suspects are in custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after a traffic stop netted a substantial drug bust.

On May 23 at around 5:30 p.m., agents with the Terrebonne Parish Narcotics Task Force said they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Malibu for disobeying a stop sign and also for illegal window tint.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle disobeyed a stop sign at the intersection of Friendswood Drive and Westwood Drive.

Agents activated emergency lights and a siren, but the vehicle allegedly continued to travel down Westwood Drive, turning into a driveway of 115 Westwood Drive.

The driver, later identified as Joshua Pellegrin, 23, of Houma, exited the driver’s door and quickly closed it behind him.

At this point, authorities said they were alarmed by his behavior.

During investigation, a TPSO K-9 unit arrived to assist. The K-9 handler conducted a search of the perimeter of the vehicle and the dog gave a positive odor detection for narcotics on the scene.

Authorities said inside the vehicle was Pellegrin’s girlfriend, Kayshia Guidry, 27, of Houma, as well as two children.

A search was conducted of the vehicle and agents located four bags of suspected crystal meth and U.S. currency.

After investigation, authorities learned that the house at 115 Westwood Drive was where the couple and the children lived.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for the residence and discovered the following items:

-$11,234 in cash

-768.94 grams of suspected Crystal Meth (street value of $153,728)

-197 Xanax pills (street value of $985)

-approximately 907.185 grams of suspected marijuana (street value of $5,443)

Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody.

Pellegrin is charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, illegal window tint, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, crystal meth, Xanax, transactions involving drug proceeds, drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile (two counts).

He is held on a $50,000 bond.

Guidry is charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, crystal meth, Xanax, transactions involving drug proceeds, drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a CDS in the presence of juveniles (two counts).

She is held on a $30,000 bond.

The two juveniles were released to a responsible family member.
