A wanted Houma man was arrested Tuesday in St. Tammany Parish and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

At about 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 5, the Grand Caillou and Houma fire departments, as well as TPSO deputies were called to a location on Garth Drive.

With the assistance of the Louisiana Fire Marshall’s Office, a determination was made that the fire, which made a family homeless and which destroyed all of their property, was intentionally set.

Based on information gathered, Deondre Brown was identified as the suspect in the incident.

On Nov. 12, authorities were notified that Brown was seen at a location in St. Tammany Parish. Deputies there responded and Brown was taken into custody and then picked up by TPSO personnel.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter wishes to thank the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.

Brown is charged with arson for the incident.
