An inmate in Lafourche Parish Transitional Work Program has been arrested after he allegedly left his work site.

The woman who helped him escape faces charges, as well.

At 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, LPSO was notified that inmate Jacory Adams, 32, was missing from the shipyard in Lockport to which he was assigned.

Authorities investigated and quickly learned that Adams had been in touch with Joni Dobson, 32, by telephone the day before.

Authorities made contact with Dobson and learned that she picked up the inmate from his work site and they went to a local motel together.

Dobson told authorities she returned Adams to the work site afterward.

Authorities reported to the shipyard and Adams was there. He was immediately taken into custody.

Dobson was also located and taken into custody, as well.

Adams, who was serving time for aggravated battery, is now also booked on a charge of simple escape. Before the simple escape charge, he was scheduled to be released from custody in Nov. 2018.

Dobson was booked with principal to simple escape. She was released on Wednesday after posting a $5,000 bond.
