The Haven is seeking donations and donation sites for its annual supply drive, Give Thanks For Your Safe Home. The supply drive will run from November 6 – January 1.

One in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. The Haven helps women break free from abusive environments and offers them and their children a safe space. Abused women and children take very little when they seek shelter at The Haven, and the donations collected through the Give Thanks For Your Safe Home Supply Drive allow survivors to feel safe and welcome.

The Haven is seeking the following donation items: toiletries, canned food goods, non-perishable food items, laundry supplies (HE detergent), liquid hand soap, hair care products, cleaning supplies, women and children’s undergarments and socks, baby wipes and towels.

A complete donation list can be found at havenhelps.org.

Items can be dropped off at the following local businesses: Blanchard’s Refrigeration, 314 Hollywood Road in Houma; BP, 1597 La. Highway 311 in Schriever; Cajun Meat Market, 216 Mystic Blvd. in Houma; Carmouche Insurance of Houma, 1522 Polk St. In Houma; Terrebonne General Medical Center, 8166 W Main St. in Houma (Main Essentials Gift Shop, Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center Lobby and Healthy Lifestyles Center Lobby); Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, 726 N Acadia Road in Thibodaux (Wellness Center Entrance).

Each donation site will have a purple collection box.

Businesses, schools, groups, organizations or individuals can volunteer to be a donation location. If interested, please contact Kimberly Clement at 985-790-5551 or Julie Pellegrin at 985-872-0757.
