Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) is closely monitoring and is implementing its Emergency Preparedness Plan to ensure the safety of all patients, staff, and the physical facility due to the threat of Tropical Storm Cristobal.

“The medical center is taking all necessary precautions at this time and is evaluating all services to prepare the organization according to our emergency preparedness plan,” said Phyllis Peoples, President and CEO. TGMC anticipates business as usual on Monday, June 8, and through the weekend. TGMC is also working closely with all local, state and federal agencies to monitor the storm for any changes and will make necessary adjustments and notifications as needed.

It is important to note that TGMC is NOT a special needs shelter.  Special needs patients should contact the Louisiana Office of Public Health.

TGMC encourages everyone to prepare in advance and implement their own Emergency Preparedness Plan to ensure safety and wellbeing. TGMC also encourages individuals to follow mandates issued by state and local government concerning severe weather and hurricane preparedness.
