The Bayou Community Foundation (BCF) is now accepting grant requests from qualified 501c3 nonprofit organizations and local government agencies to address critical needs in Lafourche Parish, Terrebonne Parish and Grand Isle, Louisiana resulting from the COVID-19 health and economic crisis.

“Our Bayou Region is already experiencing significant impacts from the COVID-19 crisis and the economic downturn, with thousands of men and women in our community now out of work turning to our local nonprofits and government agencies for help to feed, shelter and care for their families. It’s a dire situation for many residents who never imagined they would be asking for help, and local nonprofits are working feverishly to meet these escalating needs,” said BCF Executive Director Jennifer Armand.

“Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Bayou Recovery Fund, Bayou Community Foundation is acting quickly to fund grants to local nonprofits and government agencies for programs that provide help and hope to local residents suffering the most from the health and economic crisis,” Armand said. “We are all in this together.”

Federally approved tax-exempt nonprofit organizations in good standing and local government agencies serving residents of Lafourche Parish, Terrebonne Parish, and/or Grand Isle are eligible to apply for the emergency relief grants. Application deadline for the first round of grant funding is April 10, 2020. The grant application and additional COVID-19 grants program information can be found online at BayouCF.org.
