Anyone who attends football games or band festivals locally knows that the CLHS Lancer Band can jam!

Turns out, they can jam better than anyone else in the state of Louisiana.

The Lancer Band won the Class AAA State Championship yesterday at the LA Showcase in Lafayette.

The Lancer Band was amazing in all areas, earning 1’s for Band, Auxiliary, percussion, and drum major.

The band also took 1st overall in percussion and auxiliary, en route to the title.

News of the victory took social media by storm over the weekend with hundreds of locals celebrating the Lancer Band’s win.

The band is annually one of the best in the state, but the LA Showcase historically has been won by bands from Western Louisiana.

But not this year.

This year, the Trojans took the crown.

At the same event, the marching bands for both H.L. Bourgeois and Terrebonne High fared well.

The Braves placed 7th, while Terrebonne finished 9th.
