Counterfeit money being investigated in Morgan City

The Morgan City Police Department is warning merchants and the public to remain vigilant during cash transactions.

Several complaints of counterfeit money being used in the Morgan City area are under investigation. In two of the cases, the suspects have used the pictured counterfeit money to make purchases. Printed on the top of the $10 bill is the phrase “For Motion Picture Use Only.”

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office officials said occasional reports of counterfeit bills arise and are investigated or referred on a case-by-case basis.
