A Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy will have a permanent reminder of Hurricane Barry at his home.

When Deputy Harry Guillot was responding to a crash with an injured driver, he noticed that a 4-week old kitten was also inside the car.

An animal control deputy took the small cat and kept it safe during the storm.

Deputy Guillot contacted the driver after the accident and was informed that she would no longer be able to care for the care.

So, Deputy Guillot stepped up and became the new owner of the kitten.

The name? He called it crash.

LPSO said the kitten survived Barry and is happy and healthy in its new home.
