At 11 a.m. on Saturday, more than 20,000 locals were without power, according to Entergy.

The company’s outage map says that 7,744 Lafourche residents and 16,589 Terrebonne residents are affected by outages due to Hurricane Barry.

The company has said throughout the week that it’s beefed up its ground workers to anticipate outages and to get power back on to as many people as possible as fast as possible.

But we may need to be patient. Rains for Barry are expected to continue throughout the day today and into Sunday, which could slow repair work. Entergy says on its website that crews will work “tirelessly” to assist people in need.
