Congressman Garret Graves, Ranking Member of the House Subcommittee on Aviation, announced federal airport infrastructure grants yesterday that will fund nearly $3 million of improvements at two airports serving Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District: $315,000 to reconstruct a taxiway at Houma-Terrebonne Airport and $2,641,953 for taxiway enhancements at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The grants are provided through the U.S. Department of Transportation Airport Improvement Program’s allocations.

“These investments deliver vital support for our state’s airports and help ensure a quality experience and safety for Louisiana’s air travelers and visitors,” said Graves.

287 airports in 41 states received airport infrastructure grants today through the U.S. Department of Transportation. More than two thousand airports across the United States have benefited from $11.4 billion of federal safety and infrastructure improvements since January 2017.
