A man and a woman from Houma have been arrested in connection with the disappearance and murder of a Slidell man whose Cadillac Escalade was found burned in a Lafourche Parish cane field and whose remains were later discovered in Jefferson Parish.

Terrance Calloway, 28 and Dana Lemar, 23, were taken into custody at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday by Houma police officers executing a warrant at the Daniel Turner Trailer Court.

Both were booked for second degree murder and obstruction of justice at the Terrebonne Parish jail, in connection with the death of 25-year-old Cordaryle Robert. He was last seen by family members Friday, according to authorities, and told them he planned to go to New Orleans after working in Pearl River.

Saturday morning Robert’s Cadillac Escalade was found burned in a Lafourche Parish cane field near Laurel Valley Road and Wednesday morning a body found in a Harvey drainage ditch was identified as Robert.

A cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Local law enforcement officials will be releasing a joint statement later today along with Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand.
