The House of Representatives has impeached President Donald Trump.

The president was impeached on Wednesday after a vote by the House on two articles of impeachment introduced by the Judiciary Committee. Those articles included abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Only a simply majority of the vote was required to impeach.

In January, a Senate trial will decide whether or not he is to be removed from office. The Senate must get two-thirds of its members to vote in favor of conviction in order to remove the President from office.

This is the third time in our nation’s history the House has voted to impeach a president.
