Hubig’s Pies are COMING BACK!

Gov. John Bel Edwards and Hubig’s Pies owner Andrew Ramsey announced today that the company plans to relaunch production of its famous fruit pies – thanks to a $1.37 million capital investment in a Jefferson Parish manufacturing facility.

The project will create 14 full-time direct jobs with an annual salary of $40,600, plus benefits.

Over time, the Louisiana Economic Development believes the project will create 16 more indirect jobs for a total of 30 jobs created for Southeast Louisiana.

Hubig’s Pies are a Louisiana staple, but have been gone since 2012 when their factory succumbed to a fire.

The plan is to bring the pies back to the market for 2020 with all of the classic flavors, including apple, cherry, lemon, peach, chocolate and others.

Distribution will be from Louisiana to Alabama.

“No one embraces traditions and good food like the people of Louisiana,” Gov. Edwards said. “Hubig’s pies are as unique to Louisiana as Mardi Gras, and we welcome the return of this iconic local brand with open arms and empty stomachs. We’re happy to help support Hubig’s Pies as it revives a great culinary tradition and creates new career opportunities in Louisiana’s rich culinary heritage.”
