The Lafourche Parish School Board will decide on a new superintendent on the night of Tuesday, Jan. 21 at the school board office building, said Brooke Huddleston, board president. 

The candidates are Kevin George, a former superintendent and CEO of the New Beginnings School Foundation; Chris KimballSt. Charles Parish School District Executive Director of Secondary Schools; Jarod MartinActing Lafourche Superintendent; Dr. Charles Michel, Executive Director of Bayou Land Families Helping Families; and Dr. Michael Robinsona former superintendent for Pine Bluff School District in Arkansas.  

Members of the board interviewed the candidates on Thursday, Jan. 16.  


 

Former superintendent Dr. Louis Voiron’s tenure ended on Dec. 31, 2019 after board members unanimously approved to buy him out of his contract for $220,000 

Voiron had been on medical leave since July 2019 prior to the agreement.
