Due to weather forecasts that call for heavy rain this weekend, both Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes have moved their formal Halloween trick-or-treat activities from Saturday to Friday.

“Sheriff Craig Webre and Parish President Charlotte Randolph announced trick-or-treating will be moved to Friday, October 30 between the set times of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.,” said Webre’s spokesman, Sgt. Brennan Matherne. “The change is due to the forecast for significant rainfall on Saturday, October 31. This is effective for all areas of Lafourche Parish, including the City of Thibodaux, Town of Lockport and Town of Golden Meadow.”

In Terrebonne, the time to trick or treat will also be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sheriff Jerry Larpenter announced the decision on Facebook.
