Larose Man found Guilty of Rape of Juvenile

A Larose man who was charged with 1st Degree Rape in November of 2018 was found guilty by a Lafourche Parish Jury on Thursday, February 6, Lafourche Parish District Attorney Kristine Russell  announced.

Within an hour of deliberation, the jury found Johnny Moore Jr., 31, guilty of raping a juvenile victim, who suffers from a mental infirmity, at a home where Moore was living prior to October 31, 2018, the District Attorney Office said.


Moore is scheduled for sentencing on March 12 at 1:30 p.m. before the Judge Christopher Boudreaux.

Moore faces a mandatory life sentence without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
