A free legal seminar will be held next month at a local library branch.

The Houma attorney John Sirois will be hosting Social Security, retirement, and estate protection seminar at the Terrebonne Public Library’s North Branch, February 6th. The event was rescheduled from Jan. 30 to this new date.

“I see a lot of folks that didn’t plan or have a mistake in their plan and it leads to disastrous results,” said Sirois. “It’s what you don’t know that trips you up.”

The seminar will inform patrons on the ways to optimize social security, create retirement income, and manage risk during retirement. Sirios will also discuss wills, trusts, and how to avoid probate.

“There are a lot of older people that really need these specific services that can come here to this workshop and learn about all this stuff from an attorney and they learn at it for no charge,” said Jessi Suire, PR and Adult Services coordinator for the Terrebonne Public Library.

Sirois is an estate and elder care law attorney, as well as a certified financial planner practitioner who served Louisiana for over 22 years.
