John Bel Edwards has seemingly won re-election to be Louisiana’s Governor.

Edwards won election after a long, contentious race against challenger Eddie Rispone.

In the days leading up to the election, polls showed the race at a dead heat and on election day, that ended up being the case.

Edwards has 51 percent of the votes and holds a 20,000 vote lead with 96 percent of results in.

Pundits are calling the race for Edwards because the uncounted ballots are in heavy Democratic strongholds, so it seems highly unlikely that Rispone can make up the deficit.
