Nicholls State University would like to invite the public to view the amazing work of its students.

The 2018 Student Expeaux will be held on April 25 from 5-6 p.m. in the Cotillion Ballroom in the Bollinger Memorial Student Union.

At the Expeaux will be student research projects with topics ranging from World War I-era pharmacy to the nautical origins of the first Acadian settlers in the parish.

Nicholls officials said in a release that Expeaux is a yearly display of student research and creative activity and that 70 projects will be shown total.

Nicholls Arts and Sciences Dean Dr. John Doucet said he believes the event will break its participation record for a second-straight year.

Projects are judged and awards are given throughout several categories.

‪“It’s important for us to provide students opportunities to understand the benefits and rewards of research and creative work, as well as the skills necessary to manage projects,” Dr. Doucet said. “Students can now demonstrate to employers and graduate or professional school committees that they can manage projects to fruition, write about results, problem solve and be creative.”
