Senator Norby Chabert has made an endorsement in the upcoming race for Lafourche Parish Sheriff.

Chabert said he is endorsing incumbent Craig Webre, who is seeking re-election against two challengers, Thomas Rodrigue and Craig Jaccuzzo.

The race to be Lafourche Parish’s Sheriff has been contentious with both incumbent and challengers slinging pointed jabs at one another during debates and on the campaign trail.

But Chabert said he believes Webre’s experience should shine through in the upcoming race.

“Having served as a Lafourche Parish Senator for the last decade, I was always impressed by the respect given to Sheriff Webre in Baton Rouge,” Senator Chabert said. “Whether it came from his fellow sheriffs, other legislators who worked with him on Criminal Justice Reform or administrators working on projects like the construction of a new Correctional Complex, his reputation as a strong and intelligent leader has always served the people of our area well at the Capitol.”
