Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes have both declared states of emergency due to Tropical Storm Nate, which is forecast to affect the Louisiana coast during the weekend.

Additionally, authorities in Grand Isle are recommending a voluntary evacuation.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre advised that residents should secure loose items around their homes, and check and clear all catch basins and ditches near their homes.


Lafourche will provide up to 25 pre-filled sandbags while supplies last AT THESE LOCATIONS:

Raceland Field Office: 129 Texas St.

Bayou Blue Field Office: 104 Myrtle Pl.

Sand and bags are available for self-fill by residents at all field offices and the following satellite locations (bring shovel):
