The results of our statewide elections are in:


“Billy” Nungesser defeated Willie Jones with 68 percent of the vote to remain Lieutenant Governor. 

In the Secretary of State race, Kyle Ardoin and “Gwen” Collins-Greenup are headed to a runoff. Ardion received 41 percent (528,273) of the vote; Collins-Greenup received 34 percent (434,609).

“Jeff” Landry defeated challenger “Ike” Jackson Jr. with 66 percent of the vote to remain Attorney General.


In the Treasurer race, John Schroder received 60 percent of the vote (769,443) to defeat Derrick Edwards (35 percent, 442,753) and Teresa Kenny (5 percent, 69,910). 

Incumbent Mike Strain defeated four challengers to remain Commissioner of Agriculture. (57 percent, 724,709).

In a very close race for Commissioner of Insurance, Jim Donelon (53 percent, 631,721) defeated challenger Tim Temple (47 percent, 549,140).


The constitution amendments went both ways. 

CA NO. 1 (ACT 444 – HB 234) — Tax Exemptions for Outer Continental Shelf was defeated. (53 percent No). 

CA NO. 2 (ACT 445 – HB 62) — Amend Education Excellence Fund was a close race. It passed 9,505 votes. 


CA NO. 3 (ACT 446 – HB 428) — Remedy for Unconstitutional Tax Paid passed (58 percent Yes).

CA NO. 4 (ACT 448 – SB 79) — Allow New Orleans Property Tax Exemptions was defeated. (63 percent No).
