Lift 3:16 announced on social media today that the 2020 Steubenville On The Bayou youth conference will not be held this year. Shawn Lapeyrouse, president of Lift 3:16, sited low registration numbers as the reason for their decision.

Area youth are encouraged to still register for Steubenville at another site.

Below, we share Lapeyrouse’s letter in its entirety.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that the 2020 Steubenville On The Bayou Conference will not take place this summer due to extremely low registration numbers. This decision did not come easily or lightly but we do feel it is part of God’s plan at this time.

“That being said, if you were planning to attend Bayou, we want to encourage to consider attending another site. Steubenville South is in Alexandria, LA and is taking place the last weekend of June!  Steubenville Lonestar is in Dallas and is being held the same weekend Bayou was planned for. There’s also Steubenville Atlanta and Steubenville Orlando, both of which will be held in July. These are just the four semi-local to Louisiana conferences being held, there are 15 more sites – maybe a youth group road trip is in your future?! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need guidance but we do implore you to still plan to take your youth to a Steubenville Conference as we are all familiar with the impact that such an event has on a young person’s spiritual life! You can see the entire list of sites and dates here: https://steubenvilleconferences.com/youth/

“As far as the other events that Lift 3:16, Inc. hosts, at this time we DO plan to hold the 3:16 Rally for Middle Schoolers on March 28th. We also DO plan, at this time, to hold the Lift Adult Conference though the date may change – check out our website, www.Lift316.com for more information on these events!

“To our Group Leaders, I WANT TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR YEARS of saying yes to bringing youth to this life-changing event and there are no words to truly express my gratitude to each one of you. We will be praying for your youth!

“To our Volunteers, I CANNOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH FOR YOUR YEARS of support, for giving your time, your talents and your prayers to the ministry. Words cannot express my gratitude to each and every one of you. We could not have done 14 conferences without you and there are no words to truly express my feelings to each one of you. May God Bless you and I pray that we all get to continue working together on other projects, as God sees fit.”

Sincerely and with prayers,

Shawn Lapeyrouse
