A white Ford Mustang crashed into Bourgeois Meat Market, 543 W. Main St. in Thibodaux, this afternoon.

“It sounded like it was thunder,” said employee Mark Bourgeois, who was in the back cleaning at the time. “I looked outside the door and there was a car in there.”

Only the driver was in the car, who later exited the car and said he got hit by somebody else, according to Bourgeois.

A Louisiana State Police officer at the scene said it is still under investigation and declined to comment further.

Sgt. Ruben Brown from Troop C said there’s only “minor injuries at this time.”

Acadian Ambulance transported four people for minor injuries, said Lane Oncale, assistant fire chief with Schriever Volunteer Fire Department.

Terrebonne police responded and assisted as well.
