Elmore J. Songe Jr, 71, of Houma, LA passed away on February 24, 2020.

 

Elmore was born on December 12, 1948 in Houma LA to Elmore and Rose Songe.

 

Elmore was preceded in death by his parents Elmore and Rose Songe, siblings Roger Dale and Jerry Songe, and brother in laws Michael Hebert, Curtis Morvant, Nolan Brunet, and Albert Benoit.


 

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Songe, and four children, Cyndi Pellegrin, Herman (LeeAnn) Bourque, Robert (Dominique) Songe, and Melisa (Howard) Gros. He is also survived by his brother, Robert “Crab” Songe, and sisters, Judy (Wayne) Falgout, Janet (Michael) Hebert, Sherry (Richard) Fortson, Cindy (Mark) Babin, Sandra Benoit (Carl), Annette (Cheryl) Matherne and Yuette (Lynn) Crittendon.

 

Together Elmore and Margaret have 13 grandchildren, AJ, Jamie, Lloyd, Shelby, Lindsey, Paige, Meagan, Breanna, Brennan, Katlyn, Felicity, Brayden John, and Peyton, 10 great grandchildren, and many very loved nieces and nephews.

 

Elmore enjoyed fishing and always looked forward to his favorite time of the year, Mardi Gras. He loved watching the Saints and LSU, his favorite football teams, and spending time surrounded with his friends, family and his dog Toby.


 

In celebration of his life, Elmore’s family and friends will gather at his home on Friday February 28th, 2020.
