Sedric Joseph Plaisance, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2020 at The Oaks Nursing Home. Sedric was a native of Raceland, LA and a longtime resident of Houma, LA.


Sedric was born on March 5, 1933. He is survived by his three stepsons, Richard Gaston and wife Linda, Billy Gaston and wife Tammy, and David Gaston and wife Laurie; brothers, Nessie and Conrad Plaisance; sister, Effie P. Romero; Godchildren, Shari Plaisance and Aledia Parks and Several nieces and nephews.

Sedric is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Elsie “B.B.” Bourg Gaston Plaisance; parents, Philoces and Josephine Foret Plaisance, brothers, Warren, Whitney, Randolph, Cleveland, and Godfrey Plaisance; sisters, Aderial Price and Lorraine Nation; step-sons, Ray and Wayne Gaston; daughter-in-law, Jackie Charpentier Gaston.

Sedric was a very quiet and generous man to everyone who knew him. He was a Ship Fitter, Welder, and carpenter. He enjoyed Duck hunting, fishing, and loved to dance. He enjoyed his wife’s humor; everyone knows her as “B.B.” she was full of life and enjoyed her company. Thank God for all his blessings, and St. Frances Cabrini, for so many favors granted to the Gaston and Plaisance family.


The family would like to thank all his caregivers; The Oaks Nursing Home, St. Catherine’s Hospice, Dr. Ray Cinnater and Nancy Faucheaux, Dr. Dupont, Dr. Stagg and Dr. Ladd at CIS, and Dr. Alexander and Dr. Charbonnet. We give you all a big Thank-You.
