The Nicholls State University baseball team beat No.11 Louisiana State University 4-2 Wednesday night at Ray E. Didier Field.

The Tigers attempted a late push, earning a run in the last inning, but reliever Joe Taylor ultimately completed the save.


Pitcher Tyler Theriot struck out seven batters and surrendered one run on two total hits.

Designated hitter Brayden Jobert put up two RBIs for the Colonels.

This is the the first Colonels’ win over the Tigers since the 2015 season and the third win in the past 31 matchups.


It also ended the winless drought against LSU at Didier Field.
