Finalists named for Nicholls presidency

The Nicholls State University football team’s biggest game of the season will be played before a televised audience.
The Colonels’ season finale against Southeastern Louisiana next Thursday (Nov. 16) will be broadcast live by Cox Sports Television, according to a release issued by the university.
Kickoff for the game is set for 6 p.m. For viewers outside of the Cox Sports Television viewing map, the game will be broadcast on ESPN 3.
The Nicholls/Southeastern game is annually a thriller. Last year, the Lions beat the Colonels 44-42 in a shootout. The year before, the Colonels went to Hammond and beat the Lions 27-24 on a last-second field goal.
For Nicholls, the ending to the season is vitally important. The Colonels are currently on the edge of playoff projections. They likely need to beat both Stephen F. Austin on Saturday and the Lions on Thursday to get a taste of playoff football.
