The Nicholls State University football team signed seven players Wednesday – all from Louisiana.

That has a giant smile on the face of coach Tim Rebowe who said he thinks the Colonels got better, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Nicholls took six offensive players and one defender in a seven-player crop during college football’s first-ever early signing period.

Rebowe said the day was productive for the Colonels, especially given the numbers crunch the Colonels have this recruiting season.

Because the Colonels were young in 2017, they have just 12 slots available for signees.

“I think it was a good day,” Rebowe said. “I think we got some players who are going to make an impact for us. Now, I think we want to get back to work and finish out the class strong.”

Below are Nicholls’ signees.
