After a career game against Incarnate Word, Nicholls quarterback Chase Fourcade has been given Player of the Week honors.

The sophomore quarterback was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Offensive Player of the Week after tossing for a career-high 358 yards and three touchdowns in the Colonels’ sixth win of the year.

Fourcade was back to 100 percent health after a shoulder injury, which caused him to miss three quarters of the team’s win against Northwestern State.

After a bye week, Fourcade showed he was his old self this week, enjoying the huge day.

Fourcade is fourth in the Football Championship Subdivision in yards per completion at 16, and he’s anchored the Colonels to the No. 17 ranking in the FCS Top 25 Coaches Poll – their highest ranking in a decade.

The Colonels will host Houston Baptist this weekend.
