The Nicholls State University women’s tennis team has added to its signing class.

Coach Greg Harkins announced on Tuesday that the team has added some international flare to its roster with the addition of German standout Antonia Roessli.

Roessli is a 5-foot, 8-inch player and she will land at Nicholls after an impressive career in the juniors.

She is ranked No. 62 of all 18U players in Germany and has dominated her state and region throughout her career, despite tough competition.

“We feel fortunate to be able to welcome Toni to our Nicholls family,” Harkins said. “Early on in the recruiting process, I felt that Toni could bring depth and experience to the program. She has a keen understanding of strategy and embraces competition and I feel that she has the ability to grow into an impact player on the court and be a leader off the court.”

The Colonels are idle in December, but open their spring season in January.
