There will be lots of baseball talk going on next Friday in the Wellness Center at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.

Nicholls State University’s baseball coaching staff announced this week that they will host their 2018 Baseball Coaches Clinic on Friday, Jan. 12, beginning at 8:45 a.m. in the fifth floor of the Wellness Center.

The event will feature six speakers all who will cover different baseball-related topics during the discussions.

After breakfast at 8:45 a.m., Teurlings Catholic High School head coach Mike Thibodeaux will speak about winning championships with today’s generation of kids.

Also on hand from the high school ranks are Byrd coach Greg Williams and North Vermilion coach Jeremy Trahan. Williams will discuss team building and Trahan will discuss practice organization and offensive strategies.

Several guys from the pros will be on-hand, as well.

Rob St. Julien, a scout for the National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers will give a speech about scouting and grading players ‘the Dodger way’.

To end the day, Baltimore Orioles third base coach Bobby Dickerson and hitting coach Scott Coolbaugh will be on-hand to give a Hot Stove discussion on topics in the MLB.

To sign up for the clinic, school coaches are asked to fill out a form at http://geauxcolonels.com/documents/2018/1/3/Clinic_Registration_Form.pdf and email it to ford.pemberton@nicholls.edu
